Yummy Lentil | Mazedaar Moong aur Masoor Daal
Ingredient:
For Daal
- Oil
- Yellow Split Gram and Red Lentil (Moong Masoor Daal) 2 Cups
- Onion (Piyaaz) 3 - 4 Small
- Garlic Ginger Paste (Lehsan Adrak Paste ) 1 tbsp
- Coriander Powder (Dhania Powder) 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder (Haldi) 1 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch Powder) 2 tsp
- All Spices Powder (Garam Masala) 1 tsp
- Black Pepper Powder (Kali Mirch Powder) 1/2 tsp
- Chaat Masala 1 tsp
- Salt (Namak) To Taste
- Water (Paani) As Desired
For Daal Tarka:
- Oil
- Onion (Piyaaz) 2 - 3 Small
- Chopped Garlic Cloves (Lehsan ka Jaway) 5 - 7
- Cumin Seed (Zeera) 2 tbsp
- Coriander Leaves (Dhania) For Garnish
Direction:
For Daal
- Heat oil in a pot. Add Onion and cook until onions are light brown or pink.
- Add Garlic ginger paste and saute it.
- Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder. Add little water and saute all spices for few minutes.
- Add Moong masoor daal and water as desired. Add Salt according to your taste. Cover and cook until lentils (daal) are done.
- Now add chaat masala, black pepper powder and all spices powder (garam masala) and mixing well.
For Daal Tarka
- Put oil in a pan. Add onion and cook until onions are light golden brown.
- Now add garlic cloves and cumin seed and mixing well.
- Pour the hot tarka over hot daal.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve it with simple chawal (rice) and roti.
